It’s Fall!

Hi Readers,

I finished up my summer classes and I am now about 5 weeks into my final fall semester! I cannot believe that this time next year I won’t be in school anymore. That’s the hope anyway! This semester I am taking Intermediate Poetry, Advanced Fiction Writing, American Literature I, and Intermediate Spanish Part 2 (my last Spanish class!). So far it has been so much fun. If you would like to read any of my poetry, I have put them on a website for writers:

I’m not exactly sure how it works if you aren’t a member of the website. Let me know! I was talking with my boss at the SUU Writing Center, and she was shocked that I don’t really enjoy poetry. She asked me if I like music and told me, “Well, that’s poetry.” She’s right, but I feel like there is a difference. Anyway, I came to the conclusion that poetry is not my go-to literature. I have also decided that while I do not like reading poetry, writing it is pretty fun. My favorite so far is the one called “Trapped”. My professor asked us to read through some books of poetry and choose the first line of a poem and then write about the line. The line I found was a single word, “Trapped”. I talked about writer’s block. I am really anxious to hear back from my professor about how I am doing, but she isn’t giving feedback to us until the last half of the semester. We do have some in-class workshops that are coming up and I am also excited, and nervous, about those.

My Advanced Fiction Writing class is actually fun. The first time I took a class from this professor, I was so stressed out. I worried that I would be stressed again this semester, but so far I have been having a good experience. One of the first writing exercises we did was to think of something unknown and start writing about it. I didn’t even get to what I wanted to write about, because I decided to start at the beginning of my day and work my way up to the event. I got the feedback on it today and he liked the description, but wondered where the unknown was. I struggle with description, so I’ll take what I can get.

I would talk about the other two classes, but I don’t want to bore you. Just know they are going well. Although, Spanish is certainly kicking my butt. I just keep telling myself that I just need to get through the semester and never have to think about it again! Haha! I know it isn’t that bad, but it is like poetry, I just haven’t found what I really like about Spanish yet. Sorry to anyone who really loves Spanish. I am really glad that you do, because then it will hopefully cancel out how I feel about it!

Since I am in school, I really haven’t had the chance to work on any of the stories I was previously working on. Which means that everything is on hold. I am working on a piece for my fiction class, but other than that, I have nothing to report. Oh, I am scheduled to receive the first 15 minutes of “Fighting For Love” as an audio book, by September 30th.

Done!!

Yay, I’m done with classes this semester. Though I feel as though I’m not really done, if that makes sense. In a way I’m not done because I have just begun.

Now, to focus on this site and the fan page on FB! We now have a discussion board on the fan page and I’ve posted a few things in there. More to come on the discussion board as the month goes by!

Just had to share about school!

Last Day of the Semester!

For those that aren’t aware…I was in school this semester! It was a blast! I only had two classes and they both were way fun.

The first was Intro to Film. I learned so much from that class that my interest in the film industry has been piqued, more so now then ever before. Our Professor asked if anyone is thinking of pursuing a career in the film industry and I said, “Screenwriting, maybe directing and editing sounded interesting…”
We watched a documentary on Editing in class and it was amazing to see what all goes into that. So…it was a really fun class. Final is on Tuesday!

My second class was called: Intro to Imaginative Literature: Superheroes!
Yes, I paid the school to teach me about Superheroes and it was worth it!
I learned about the mythology behind superheroes, some of the first heroes in history, Superman(more in depth than just watching or reading!), and so much more!
We got to do a presentation on a Superhero of our choice at the end of the semester and I chose to do the TV show “Lois & Clark”. I think it went well and was told later by a couple of my classmates that they really enjoyed my presentation. So…hopefully I did really good on it! It was a bit of a nightmare getting it ready, but that’s a whole other story! Final is a take home quiz because we still have 5 more presentations to go through on our scheduled final day; which is Wednesday and we are to turn in our take home final before then!

I am taking the summer off to focus on writing and finding some employment. Maybe I will even have that all important announcement about my e-book!!
My sister and I have finished editing Chapters 1-8 out of 14 chapters. So…we are getting closer!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I am also in the process of getting a fan page on Facebook set up so watch for the link coming soon!!

The Case of the Missing Jump Drive

Here is what we know:
It has most to all of my books, school papers and other important things on it.

Where was I when I last saw it? In my house.

When was the last time I saw it? Friday night before going to bed.

What was I doing before it went missing? Walking around my house, holding it tightly so I wouldn’t lose it. I placed it on a table, a ledge or a shelf and saying, “Don’t forget this is here.”

And that is as far as I can remember.

Who was around to see me? No one. JD was asleep and my parents were out of town.

How did you come to realize it was missing? I went to look for it and I couldn’t find it.

I’m under the impression that I won’t find it until I start writing my papers over. I have six papers to write; I don’t have time to look for a lost jump drive.

…to be continued…

Apparently, I picked it up late Friday night and placed it carefully in my jeans pocket. While looking through the laundry yesterday, I seemed to have skipped over the exact pair of jeans I was wearing on Friday. Today, while going through all of the laundry I realized my mistake in forgetting Friday’s jeans and placed my hand in a pocket.

There my fingers rested on an object the size and shape of a jump drive. I pulled it out and there it was.

I then carried it with me and contemplated whether or not to attach it to my charm bracelet! It is still an option!

Until next time…
